Floor Coatings

Garage floors that look good and hold up

A coated floor resists oil, tire marks and dust, cleans up with a mop, and makes the whole garage brighter. We grind the concrete before every coating so it bonds properly, which is what separates a floor that lasts from a DIY kit that peels.

🎨

Flake Epoxy

The most popular garage finish. Colored vinyl flakes broadcast into the base coat hide small imperfections and add light texture underfoot.

✨

Metallic Epoxy

A high-gloss, marbled finish with depth and movement. A good fit for showroom garages, home gyms and converted spaces.

🟦

Solid Color Epoxy

A clean, single-color floor in gray, tan or a custom shade. Simple, bright and easy to keep clean.

⚡

Polyaspartic Coatings

A fast-curing, UV-stable topcoat or full system. Less waiting time before you use the garage again, and it will not yellow in the sun.

🛞

Hot-Tire & Chemical Resistance

Topcoats chosen to stand up to hot tires, oil, gas and garage chemicals so the floor does not lift or stain.

👟

Anti-Slip Texture

Optional grit added to the topcoat for better grip when the floor is wet, which matters near the driveway.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How long does a garage floor coating take?

Most two-car garages are done in one to two days depending on the system and the condition of the concrete. Polyaspartic systems are usually the quickest.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Epoxy builds a thick, strong base and comes in the most looks. Polyaspartic cures much faster and stays clear in sunlight. Many of our floors use an epoxy base with a polyaspartic topcoat to get both.

Why do DIY epoxy kits peel?

Most kits go on over concrete that was only washed or acid-etched. Without diamond grinding, the coating cannot bond properly and hot tires pull it up. We grind every floor before coating.

When can I park on the new floor?

Foot traffic is usually fine within a day. Vehicles need longer, depending on the system and the weather. We give you the exact times for your floor before we leave.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. San Diego Garage Doors holds California CSLB license #1081105 and is insured and bonded.
